Lou's in the Press

Lou's opened on July 26, 2025, at 13 Brattle Street in Harvard Square, Cambridge, in the underground space once home to Beat Hotel, Beat Brasserie and Beat Brew Hall. It is a 289-seat restaurant, bar and live music venue with bands and DJs every night, and a 1920s speakeasy-inspired room designed by Elder & Ash. With a stage for bands and DJs, a bar open late, and menus tailored to your group, Lou’s makes it easy to host something memorable. Our team takes care of the rest.

Lou's is run by general manager Allison Finney, formerly of Roadrunner, House of Blues Boston and the opening team at The Sinclair. It is owned by John DiGiovanni together with Tom Keane and Harry DiLeo of American Flatbread, and named for John's late father, Harvard Square entrepreneur Louis "Lou" DiGiovanni.

Since opening, Lou's has been covered by The Boston Globe, Boston Magazine, Eater Boston, The Harvard Crimson, WCVB and more. Read the stories below.
